Give Kids a Smile, Giving Kids the Power to Smile
National Children’s Dental Health Month is in full swing and so is ADA’s Give Kids a Smile Program. Since this program was launched in 2003, over 5 million underserved children nationwide have received free oral health services thanks to a countless army of volunteers.
One way we can help make a difference locally is to give kids the power to smile by educating them on the importance of good oral health.
Recently, Dr. Tiffany stopped by a local preschool in our community. With the help of a few special friends, the class learned all about foods that are good for their teeth, the correct way to brush their teeth and a friendly reminder of how often they should brush. They also went home with a bag full of goodies to practice what they had learned.
During her visit, the kids watched a fun video, saw models of teeth, and even got to see pictures of what their teeth would look like if they didn’t take good care of them! Yikes! It was a fun day for everyone!
