    Happy Haiku Poetry Day

Haiku is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines.  Traditionally, they evoke images of the natural world.

An example, written by Matsuo Basho (1644-1694), considered the greatest haiku poet.

    Autumn moonlight-

    a worm digs silently

    into the chestnut.

We thought we would try our hand writing a couple of haiku poems, dental style.

    Hannah and Callie Holladay write:

    My tooth fairy

    loves clean, shiny teeth.

So I brush my teeth twice a day.

    …and from the front office:

    Smiling white, smiling bright,

my teeth are tools that help me,

    CHOMP, CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CHOMP!
