Kindness Starts With One
Kindness starts with one. One Smile. One Hug. One Friendly Gesture.
Kindness inspires. Uplifts. Encourages.
Kindness brings joy. To the giver. To the receiver.
Kindness is contagious. Spreads Outward. Spreads Inward.
When I first got my license I drove a blue Volkswagen Bug. I hadn’t been working at Favero Dental for long when I came out to the grass lot I parked in after work one day and discovered I had a flat tire. I was secretly excited for the challenge, my older brother taught me how to change a tire, but before I could get a speck of dirt on me, a nice gentleman came to my aid and graciously and happily changed my flat tire. I will never forget his kindness.

I used to work in a restaurant at a local mall. I usually worked the cash register so I was the first to greet each customer, take their order and accept their payment. I chose to always have a smile on my face so that each person I spoke to felt valued and important, which they were! Every Saturday morning an elderly gentleman with a lonely face would come through the line to order. After months of our weekly encounters he finally asked, “Why are you always so happy?” I simply responded that I was happy to see him. The following Saturday he came through the line as usual, but this time, with a huge smile on his face said, “Good Morning, Sunshine!”. His genuine greeting brightened my day and helped me feel so special. I looked forward to those weekly visits for as long as they continued. He was proof that kindness starts with one.
