    Happy National Pharmacist Day

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind each of you that starting on January 1, 2022 most prescriptions being sent to a California pharmacy must be submitted electronically.

To help eliminate confusion and streamline this transition, we began the process of e-prescribing prescriptions well before this deadline.

    What You Need To Know

As a patient, you will not notice much of a change except you will no longer receive a paper prescription to take to your pharmacy.  We will electronically send your prescription while you are here in our office.

We will include all of the same information that we would on your old paper prescription including:

    • Name, Date of Birth, Address and Phone Number
    • Prescription, Quantity, Directions and Refill Information

    How Can You Help

We will need the name of your pharmacy and corresponding street address.  If you can’t remember the street address, don’t worry, we will help you find it.

    Are There Any Exceptions

This new law does provide certain exemptions, including if transmission of the prescription is temporarily unavailable because of technological or electrical failure; if the prescription is dispensed by a pharmacy located outside California; or if the prescription is issued to a patient who has a terminal illness.
